jwyche: (Sky At Home)
Life went upside down, the sky is water and the sea is air. You drown even as you learn to breathe. When you look at the stars beneath water that is never still, they leap and sway. It's nice to see stars this new way, but maybe it would be nice to see them the other way- clear and still. You will never see the stars that old way again. You are still drowning, you are still breathing.

There are boxers everywhere in this new upside down world, and they are always accidentally trying to kill you. They strike so slowly and the blows hurt less than you'd imagine. But there's a constant aquatic pressure against your lungs now, so that's the trade off. Breathing. Drowning. Lasting. Failing.
