To Go To

I went to Carly and Leslie's house, which is as much outside as inside.

Damn Carpetbaggers

Their friend Lars is visiting from Denmark. Though Danish, he has a tattoo which is an homage to my home town. I like this and think Rt. 66 is highly underrated as a tattoo subject.

Homage to Route 66

I hate it when I have to give in and shoot vertically.

Ope

Carly made me a gin and soda with lime (which everyone knows I won't even drink at all psh) and we ate corn fresh from the grill with butter and coarse Kosher salt.

Their dog, Magnnus, is bunny-soft.

Magnus

Here's their other dog, Venga. Can you read his tag? It says "HALF CAT HALF DOG"! I die from the cleverness. But really he's not a dog or a cat, he's a little fox prince.

Half Cat Half Dog

I found a bunch of my old CDs (as in compact discs, not cross dressers) from high school and it's been totally nuts listening to them.

Driving home from Carly and Leslie's, I unexpectedly got very sad. I think it's because their house was suddenly invaded by 14 camping Tour-America sorts; people from all over the world. They were being led by Carly's long time friend Zeona, about whom I have heard very much. I've heard she charming and sexy. She misremembered my name when I met her, and then her and Lars went to the other side of the house and started talking.

I was sitting by the campfire all by myself. Thirteen international strangers pitched tents in the woods around the house, Carly and Leslie discussed the European invasion with their neighbors, Lars and Zeona talked on the other side of the house, and I watched the campfire allllllll by myself, the only lonely person among 18.

I am very lonely.

It isn't good or bad, it just is.

That corn on the cob/gin combo looks delicious. There's something great about getting drunk in the woods.

DAMN EUROPEANS. Scum, all of them.

Hey know what I did tonight?

Gay bath and gin.

Haha, maybe it's my calling. Alternative therapy from AA (amazing alcohol).

Wow, your friends Carly and Leslie seem to lead a very adventurous life; I'm jealous! I'd love to hear more about their steps to becoming full-time campers and how they made the decision to head in that direction in the first place.

That picture of their backyard is perfect and the corn and the drink look delicious!

The corn + drink were indeed delicious.

And yes, Carly and Leslie are always up to something. They have a house but it is barely winterized and until recently didn't really have any weather proof features or even ANY running water. They live most of their life outside now that they moved there. The couch is outside. They did it because they wanted to own their own little piece of the world, I suppose, and it was cheap. It has been an adventure for them- I know it's been extremely trying at certain times. It's great for me, though, since I can visit, hike, bring Boo, anen go home to hot water. ;)
