Amazing Drag Queens From Outer Space
We went to a drag show. Did I mention I love drag shows? I should be going for a run right now, but you know what, it's almost 10:00 PM, it's cold, it's dark, and I will go for one tomorrow.
Some of my friends are seeing Avatar tonight. Jealous like whoa- despite the reviews that it's predictable and the second half kind of doesn't bring it, I rilly wanna see it.
This is Ruby, who I enjoyed photographing a lot on Friday.

Let me give you the color ones first. Here's Mickey, a friend of friends. She's rocking Mickey Mouse scrubs cos that's how she rolls.

This lady was awesome- she just stood there like a sequined matron and performed the hell outta her song.

Here was our emcee for the night- she prompted me to have a drunk conversation (I'm a really friendly drunk) about how I wish I had porn star hair every day all the time and maybe we should all be wearing more wigs.

Here was a casual observer of the show. All the girls in drag were loving having there picture taken, and I decided to see if that general attitude would transfer over to the rest of the audience.

This woman had all the dance moves. I took bunches of pictures. Too bad it was such low lighting. And I had been drinking. And came unprepared haha.

Another random guest. I've always heard that you can tell a drag queen by her hands and feet, but I guess I know too many large-footed women for that to be of much use to me. Usually I notice the most difference in skin- my skin might not be great, but it's softer and finer than if I were a man. Yay. Anyway, this woman reminded me of that actress from Carnivale, you know, the HBO show. You could see it more from the side.

Gender is such a performance, and this girl had it down. She lost her wig and was still looking like more of a woman than I look like. Damn hot drag queens. Damn you all.

I want some sequined underwear- is that so wrong?

Really, she did an amazing performance.

Oh everybody loves a redhead.

Yes, there were a couple drag kings.

Dude. Next time? Tripod.

Close ups.

Here was our waitress at Applebee's that night.

I also took quite a few black and whites (many of them of Ruby), since I think you can get away with crappy lighting better that way.

This one is one of my better photos ever, in my opinion, even blurry and ill-composed.

Man, I should go to a drag show and ask them where they shop. 8| I can never find good clothes and shoes in my size, haha.
